Proposal Abstract
Printmaking fascinated me due to its remarkable artistic expression, spontaneity, and flexibility. My works reflect my own thoughts and impulses, as narrative or symbolic imagery, mostly inspired by the tiny things around. For me, the creative process is a visual adventure, a spiritual path to free the inherent potentiality and imagination.
In IMPACT 11, I would like to showcase a summary of my printmaking works of the last 25 years. The main technique I used is lift-ground aquatint etching, in which I used the painterly approach of brushstrokes to let my figurative images appear more lively and expressively. The images are simply depicted with an autonomous structure surrounded by open and undefined space.
In recent years, I began to experience with photo intaglio, I used digital technology to modify the images by diversity techniques, such as rescale, rotate, overlay, shift or zoom effects to create a new vision with new visual context, in which the alternation of time and space as fragments could be exposed.
I will be very excited if I can get the opportunity to show my portfolio at the IMPACT 11, which not only can enable me to share my passion for intaglio with the international audience but also exchange my knowledge and ideas with other participants and experts.
