Because I’ve been moving around countries since little, I have always had a hard time fitting into the community mainly because of the way I look. That is why I’ve been conscious of the people around me. Looking at how superficial, or how emotions from deep within arise for fitting into a group has influenced my perspective and my body of work. My prints are based on human conditions, and how we human beings seek for the standards of ‘beauty’ and perfection so that we fit into our community. I use a lot of flowers, plants and things that we find in nature that blossom and grow to die to represent this greed: the charming elegant position that we, as humans, long for, but remember that nothing is forever – this enchantment might only happen for a short while. Or is this all an illusion that we create so that we are not left alone?
