Proposal Abstract
In this demonstration, Larkin will present how to create several prints through a limited number of woodblocks. The woodblock printing skill that Larkin introduces in this presentation is developed from Mokuhanga — a water-based woodblock printing method. The printing method is a big part of Larkin’s working progress, and he creates a series of prints with it. Through his practice, Larkin builds his technique with this traditional method, which alters the printmaking skill by giving it the character of the Monoprint.
Brief Procedures:
- Add Registration Marks on the woodblock.
- Draft the image on the woodblock.
- Damp the printing papers.
- Prepare the water-based ink.
- Prepare the Nori.
- Create the prints.
