Proposal Abstract
This poster will be content the process and methodology of the project realized for the collective of ten authors: nine students of Bachelor in Visual Arts Program in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo (UMSNH) in city of Morelia, Mexico and myself like coordinator and editor.
It arose based on students’ concerns about doing something alternative to traditional graphics in a different format and size for the possible participation of the public at the time of showing it. In the poster will be present the methodology of large-scale university collective work, some results so far, our experiences. The project was presented in three public exhibitions in different places of Morelia.
The group of authors as a whole decided to participate with the theme of the Family to be able to reflection and approach the public-spectator by being a topic close to all. The spectators are invited to move, change, arm and disarm the museology according to their imagination.
The project includes 10 cubic figures composed of 3 or 4 cubes of dimensions 40 x 40 x 40 cm, which one above the other reach 160 cm. The group of figures presents an ordinary family: the father and mother, their children, grandfather, grandmother and two lovers. The characters were chosen by the group of participants, as well as the theme and the characters for each student were drawn. Each of the participants wrote a kind of script or story of their characters, defining their visual characteristics that served them in the realization of the engraving plates. The technique chosen was wood engraving, with 3-4 plates of 120 x 80 cm, the tables were subsequently printed on this cotton paper. In total 37 plates resulted, the impression of each one was later built as a cube.
