Artist Biography
Aodi Liang got his MFA degree in 2016 in EIA program, School of Art and Design, Alfred University, New York. He worked as a full-time research specialist for 3 years in the Institute for Electronic Arts (IEA) at Alfred University from 2016-2019. During the practice in IEA, he worked on the John Wood Archival Projects with high-res scanning on up to 400 prints and drawings of the important artist and honored professor John Wood. He also worked on assisting artists in residence on multiple projects including laser woodblock printing, photo polymer, digital printing as well as some book making projects.
His multimedia works includes digital/traditional printmaking, artist books design and binding, videos, video installations, projection mapping, etc. His collaboration works with Performance Artist Eiko Otake on Digital Printmaking were shown on TBA Festival in PICA. His newest archival print on Redstar Xuan Paper “Wiener World” entered the 2nd International Printmaking Alliance Invitational Exhibition in Jingdezhen, China. A series of his digital prints with laser engraving “Boxes” were accepted and shown in the 1st International Printmaking Alliance Invitational Exhibition in Forbidden City, China. He also participated in Alfred Alumni Show in Portland, OR, and the Student and Faculty Print Show in Tsinghua University in Beijing China in 2016. Works have been published recently on Maan Art Magazine in China and Salann Magazine in Pittsburgh, PA, USA
Aodi Liang’s recent research project on minimal geometric combination with color, “Doodle Series”, is exhibiting at K11 in Guangzhou, China.
