Artist Biography
Sharon Lindenfeld is a printmaker based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. She makes prints
that depict dreamlike, abstract landscapes. Starting from observational drawings, she
repeatedly works, reworks, and transforms plates until her final prints no longer resemble their
original sources. Her prints have been exhibited internationally including at venues in New York
City; Krakow, Poland; Shanghai, China; and Florence, Italy.
At the NYC studios of Master Printers Greg Burnet and Bob Blanton, she worked on editions for
such artists as Julie Mehretu, Mickalene Thomas, Alex Katz, and Chuck Close. She earned her
MFA in Printmaking from Indiana University-Bloomington and bachelor degrees from
Dartmouth College and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
She currently teaches printmaking at Zayed University and has previously taught at Dartmouth
College, Indiana University–Bloomington, the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, St. Thomas
Aquinas College, and Sullivan Correctional Facility (a maximum-security prison).
