Karol Wilczynska is internationally recognised designer and published illustrator who has been working in the field for over 33 years. A Senior Lecturer at Auckland University of Technology and member of the management team for Communication Design, where she over sees the development of graduate and post-graduate students in the creative industries, and continues to liaison with design industry practitioners.
Ms Wilczynska is senior graphic designer, creative, doer, dreamer, printmaker, bookbinder, illustrator, photographer, painter and writer. A member of the international Designer Bookbinders UK, and Ladies of the Letterpress USA.
Ms Wilczynska’s research that includes the history of print in New Zealand, satirical poster art reinterpreting comments found in the public domain from prominent speakers within New Zealand and around the world, and hybridised methods of printing utilising old and new technologies alongside the making of ink resources found in the New Zealand natural landscape.
